Description
Rocha pears are typically yellowish and originate from Portugal. With a juicy, pleasant and sweet flavour they are favoured amongst consumers inside and outside of Portugal. Also known as Portuguese pears they are one of Portugal’s main fruit export – 98% of worldwide production of Rocha pears takes place in Portugal and 95% of the worldwide production takes place in a small portuguese region – the Oeste region – namely in Cadaval, Bombarral, Torres Vedras, Caldas da Rainha, Alcobaça, Lourinhã, Óbidos and Mafra. The fruit we use is all produced by local fruit growers.
Production
The process used in order to produce our fruit juice is simple and traditional.
We start by crushing the pears, and then we press the crushed pears in order to extract the pear juice. After this is finished we pasteurize and bottle the juice.
Our pear juice is made 100% out of organic pears. We don’t add water to our juice, as a result our juice is quite pulpy – if you prefer a more liquid juice please mix with water before drinking.
As for the sweet taste, that comes from the fruit itself – we don’t add sugar.
